Trade ideas for next week

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) - Looking at the technical chart above, we can see a nice pull back after recent advance. The volume on this pull back has been minimal compared to the volume on the way up, so there is nothing to worry about. This stock is still displaying upside momentum and is poised to move higher from these levels. Let’s see whether the stock can gather enough momentum to break through $6.32 next week. If the Bulls are able to push through this level, there will be another rally towards $6.68 . The uptrend continuation scenario is slightly more likely at the moment. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop-loss at $5.69.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)  enjoys a strong support at the 318-319 zone. Only a close below this zone would have negative implications. The near-term trend is bullish and would remain so, as long as the stock holds above this area. Fresh buying may be considered on a close above 325.

Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM) traded up on Friday and I am looking for a continuation move next week. Resistance is $62.15 and I expect an increase in volume once the stock breaks through.

Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) continued to show strength with another gain on strong volume. Today's rally put shares above potential round-number resistance at the $5.50 level, which is a bullish sign. The technical chart looks very bullish with a short-term target of $5.88.

Other stocks to watch :

Shares of Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ:PLUG) continue to be very volatile and a stock worth watching. I plan to buy PLUG the next time it breaks up through $.40

Shares of Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) closed back above $12.50 on Friday, which is bullish. Support is located around $12.28.

Shares of Universal Travel Group (NYSE:UTA) are starting to heat up again and are worth watching. As I have been saying, I think this stock can trade above $7 during the next four weeks. The stock is forming a possible inverted head and shoulders pattern with a neckline at $7.

Shares of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT)  hit a new 52 week high on heavy volume Thursday. Resistance is located at $9.36 and then $9.45.

Stock Picks for Tuesday December 14, 2010

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) closed lower on the session but it was encouraging to see the intraday bounce from $6.23. If the rally continues tomorrow we should be good. The short-term trend on the daily chart remains bullish but if you're looking for a new bullish entry point consider waiting for a dip near its 7-dma around $6.09.

It was a rough day for Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR). Auriga downgraded the stock to "Hold" from "Buy". The stock gave up 3% and hit an intraday low of $11.91. At this stage the stock needs to close above $12.52 ( 200-dma ) in order for a bullish resumption. On the other hand a close below $12.03 would open the door to a new bearish move that could take the stock to the $11 area.

Shares of Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)  were upgraded to a "Outperform" by one analyst firm but that wasn't enough to push the stock above the $600 level. Aggressive traders might want to consider short positions now with a stop loss at $603 and a $580 target. The near-term view is bearish for the stock as long as it trades below $600. Near term supports for GOOG are at $589.10 and then $580. Resistances would be at $600 and then $603. Fresh longs can be initiated only above the second resistance.

Other stocks to watch :

GigaMedia Limited (NASDAQ:GIGM)  closed above the key resistance level of $1.58 amidst crappy stock market conditions. As long as the stock stays above the $1.50, I like the stock in the short term.

5 Stocks to Keep An Eye On

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS)  suffered another day of profit taking with a 1.83% pull back but traders bought the dip at $5.90. Today's stock price action looks like further consolidation after Friday morning's big spike up. The technical picture is mixed but the medium-term trend is bullish and I suspect that DRYS is poised to move higher from here. My first target to take profits is at $6.83.

The big news with VIVUS, Inc.(Nasdaq:VVUS) today was that Orexigen’s drug Contrave had cleared a major regulatory hurdle on the road to approval. I believe it was today's news that accounted for VVUS big volume today. Usually when we see big volume and no movement with a stock near its highs I suspect it's distribution and bulls should turn more defensive. At this stage, the stock might be due for a rest so watch for a dip back toward $8.70. A closer look at the RSI reveals that the stock is extremely Overbought. On the other hand, fresh exposures may be considered on a move above $9.32, with a stop-loss at $8.70.

The overall trend in Cisco Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CSCO) remains bearish but looking closely at the chart above we can see that in the short-term the stock is trying to bounce from oversold conditions. I've been concerned that the lack of downward momentum at this level is suggesting a short-term bottom. Before buying this stock, I want to see the price break the resistance of $19.70 and the 20 day moving average to the upside. On the other hand a drop under $19 would be very bearish and reinforce the downtrend.

ARCA biopharma, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABIO) continues to sell-off and on big volume, which is normally a bearish sign. The stock lost 9%. In terms of technical levels, the next major support is seen at 3.10 followed by 3.01.

The Hottest Stocks To Watch Tomorrow

This morning, Morgan Stanley raised his price target for  DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) to $9.50 from $9, while repeating his Neutral rating. Morgan Stanley reports that, "Although we see attractive drill ship demand dynamics and view the proposed private transaction positively (as it would remove some uncertainty around drill ships financing); we remain Neutral rated given DRYS’s less positive record of managing fleet growth through the cycle and a higher risk premium given significant related party transactions." The stock surged 5.66% to $4.21. The 52-week range of the stock is $3.28-$6.95. DryShips Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:DRYS) has average daily volume of 19.94 million shares. At today`s closing market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $1.83 billion. From the technical side the stock made a big move last week, it was able to move past 2 important levels of resistance. DRYS has now several bullish indicators: The MACD is above the center line and above the signal line, while KD line also show buy signal as %K line crossed on top of %D line. The volume over the past two trading days has been very strong so the market is certainly interested in it for some reason. In addition, the stock is now trading above 50 day and 200 day moving average, normally a bullish sign. The stock hit a high of $6.37 on the day, which is resistance for Tuesday’s continuation move. If the stock can break through this level, we should see another strong upside move. Keep DRYS on your radar.

I've been looking at Key Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE:KEG) for a possible breakout candidate. The stock closed up $.21 today and looks poised to make another move on Tuesday. From my point of view, there are solid and consistent buyers here. KEG's chart suggest that increased buy side activity could push share prices to much higher levels. The short-term outlook for KEG appears positive. The trend is definitely your friend here. The MACD also confirms the recent jump and RSI shows that there's more upside to come. The stock could touch an upside target of $11.54 in the short term. Existing holders could remain invested. Let's keep an eye on KEG as i think momentum will pick up.

Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ:URRE) failed to continue its bearish correction today. A break above $3.98 could trigger further bullish pressure testing 4/4.22 region and could potentially end the downside correction.

Rubicon Minerals Corp. (AMEX:RBY)was up on Monday and I am keeping it on the list for Tuesday. The stock  has been strong, which leads me to believe that there are buyers and we could see another up move soon. I'm looking to buy the stock above $6.04.

OceanFreight Inc. (NASDAQ:OCNF) caught my attention when I was quickly viewing some stocks and what actually caught my attention is the unusual increase in volume for the past 3 days. The stock price action doesn’t give much clue to what is happening in this stock, but do keep an eye on this stock.

Shares of Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) is still moving sideways and indicates a lot of indecision. Resistance at $.406 still holds and the resistance line from June still hasn’t been broken yet. For this week, still expect a sideways to downward movement for the stock.

Four Stocks to Watch Next Week

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) traded just like the overall market. The stock started the day weak but rallied to go positive and closed at the highs of the day. This could be the start of a trend reversal for MOT, which is why I'll be watching the stock on Monday. Volume has been increasing the past 3 days, as the stock sits in a tight channel. Resistance is $8.28, which was the high of November. If the stock breaks through, there is a good chance you will see a strong upside move, so watch the stock very closely next week. In addition, the CMF Index is showing a rising move, indicating a rising money flow into the stock. Keep MOT on your radar for Monday’s trading session.

Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) looks like it is a decent risk reward long play here. The stock had a huge move in late October moving over 15% in two days and has been consolidating that move since. A sustained move above $4.88 would complete the base and would give a confirmation of a breakout. The money flow index is starting to point upward and momentum turning into the green. In addition, the RSI still above the neutral 50 level. Technically, this stock is in a short-term UPWARD trend indicated by the 50 day MA.

LSI Corporation (NYSE:LSI) has been is on a remarkable run since September and it doesn’t looks like the trend will change soon. At this stage, LSI is in overbought territory from a technical standpoint, however it does not mean the stock won't still go up but a pull back is needed. I'm very bullish on this stock, but in situations like this, I prefer to wait for a pull back rather than chase the market.
